At-Home STD Testing

Testing for STDs at home is safe, convenient, and private. Performed regularly, it can help you stay healthy and avoid unknowingly transmitting STDs.

You have many options for at-home STD testing. The best at-home STD tests are FDA approved and evaluated for safety and accuracy with fast result turnaround times and support from health care professionals.

At-home STD testing kits should include instructions for collection and test registration, along with materials such as containers and swabs to collect and send your sample to the lab. Most at-home STD tests offer results in about five days through a secure online patient portal.

A suburb of Las Vegas, Spring Valley is located just a few miles west of the city’s famous Strip. The area’s three most common STDs are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Spring Valley is located in Clark County, which recorded the highest chlamydia rate of any Nevada county in 2019. This represented an increase of more than 28% compared to the rate seen in 2015.

Women accounted for nearly 63% of Clark County’s chlamydia diagnoses in 2019. Among female Clark County residents, the highest infection rate was seen in those aged 20-24, followed by those in the 15-19 age group.

Over the five years ending in 2019, Clark County’s gonorrhea incidence soared by more than 62%. In 2019, it ranked first for gonorrhea infections among Nevada’s counties, with an infection rate 29% higher than the second-place county, Washoe.

In 2019, men made up about 61% of Clark County’s gonorrhea cases. The highest infection rates were seen in men under 30, who accounted for about half of male cases. However, gonorrhea diagnoses were reported in men and women of all ages.

Statewide, the frequency of primary and secondary syphilis diagnoses has skyrocketed since 2015. As the state’s most populous county, Clark County drove this trend: Its infection rate rose by 88% between 2015 and 2019.

Men accounted for about 83% of new diagnoses in Clark County in 2019. Men in the 25 to 29 age group were the most affected, followed by those in the 30 to 34 age group. However, cases among Nevada women are rising. From 2018 to 2019, the state recorded a 32% increase in female cases, compared to about 14% for males.
